Wellbeing Wales Network E-bulletin May 2010
Earlier this month the Welsh Assembly Government finished its consultation on its Economic Renewal Programme. WAG’s Economic Renewal Programme "aims to establish a renewed approach to economic development in Wales ... [to] encourage a stronger and more sustainable economy and increase the prosperity and long-term wellbeing of the people of Wales." April saw the New Economics Foundation publish "Public Services Inside Out - Putting co-production into practice" by David Boyle, Julia Slay and Lucie Stephens. This is the second in a series of papers by NEF looking at the potential of co-production in redefining the relationship between ‘service provider’ and ‘service user.’ The report is about "real stories of reform, led by people who work in and use public services." They are stories about "the commitment and creativity of frontline workers and members of the public who wanted better services." With public sector cuts making headlines on every front page, this report’s points to a different approach.
Both are available in the reference section of the website.
And finally, the good news is that the ‘Editor’s Choice’ has returned after a temporary disruption.
