Mappiness Maps – happiness across space in the UK
This is a project run by researchers in the London School of Economics that wants to explore how people’s happiness is affected by their local environment. Using the latest technology, participants can down load the free mappiness app to their iPhone – and off they go.
Participants will be asked more than once a day how they are feeling, what they are doing and who with. Researchers will also get information on each participant’s approximate location using the iPhone’s internal GPS. The data then gets automatically sent back to LSE to analyse the results. The system is completely anonymous and secure.
It might sound a bit Big Brother, but the researcher group want to give people the opportunity to get to know more about their own happiness. Participants are also contributing to "the sum of human knowledge," which can’t be a bad thing.

Wellbeing Wales Network Response to WAG’s Child Poverty Strategy and Delivery Plan
The Wellbeing Wales Network recently responded to the Welsh Assembly Government’s Child Poverty Strategy and Delivery Plan. It provided another opportunity to make the case to the Assembly and its partners, that wellbeing could be the common thread to help a host of organisations coordinate their efforts and so reduce poverty in Wales.
