Terms of Reference

Overall Aim / Mission:

‘To support, develop and enhance the capacity of the voluntary/NGO sector to contribute to the Wellbeing agenda at a local and national level.’

To provide an opportunity for those interested in this area of work and in furthering the Wellbeing agenda to:

• meet, exchange and debate ideas; discuss good practice and to support, enable and champion this agenda;
• identify, inform & recruit members of the NGO Network and ensure that all who want to contribute to be part of the Network can do so; and to draft and circulate a directory of network participants;
• establish and support an effective communication structure for the Network;
• provide a coordinated view for and from Wellbeing NGO sector on Wellbeing issues including the built environment at national and local levels;
• raise awareness of this agenda as appropriate, nationally and locally;
• identify issues, gaps, barriers and priorities for development;
• create opportunities for discussion/ debate and learning;
• provide a central forum for Wellbeing NGO’s to engage with the other networks including the Health Challenge Wales Network for Health;
• identify support/development/ capacity needs and act as a conduit for Voluntary Sector Training, Community Involvement Training and Community Health Information;
• create/develop collaborative approaches/partnership working and to serve as a vehicle for collaborative action among Wellbeing NGOs including collaboration in seeking funding;
• undertake the sharing and dissemination of notable and evidence informed practice guidance.
